Catholicism, Loyalism and the American Revolution

Hello everyone. I am busy preparing for the new semester, which is why there is a delay in the next podcast coming out (which you will like, trust me). In lieu of that, I want to recommend an episode of “Ben Franklin’s World,” a podcast about Early American History. In it, the historian Brad Jones talks about his book “Resisting Independence,” which is about “Loyalists” in the American Revolution, those who sided with the British monarchy against the Patriots. I recommend it because he does a good job explaining the role that Catholicism–or rather the fear of Catholicism–played in the outbreak of the war. Possibly a new episode of Controversies in Church History? We shall see. Until then, enjoy:
